Freeze the wiener!

Just when the bitter Alberta wind was a distant memory my human takes me to the park and I freeze my weenie buns off. It all worked out for the best though because I was getting a little freaked out by all of the people so when I found this warm spot I was happy as a wiener could be.

Once again I've been a busy little wiener. Travelling around Texas to watch the big guy ride his bike.

Sometimes you have to be very, very quiet.

And sometimes you just have to be.

Kacy has been getting a lot of stuff off of the counter lately. It's a lot of fun ripping and tearing but then it's not so fun when my human comes home and sees what we've done.

Early morning walks...

...are pretty fun. Mostly because I don't have to deal with a lot of stuff. No people or trucks or lawn mowers. Just me, Kacy, my human and the big guy. Running through the streets of the 'hood.

Busy weekend for wieners

We all went for a long drive this weekend and ended up in a big park watching the big guy and a bunch of other people riding around on bikes. Kacy got pretty wound up, I guess because she likes the attention from everybody. All I wanted to do was hide behind my human. She dragged me around a little bit and forced me to endure the most awful thing known to weenies...pets from strangers. But I did get to nap in the sun with my human. I think that may be the most bestest thing known to weenies.

Don't leave me!!

My human gave me a pep talk last night. It went something like this... " We're leaving you with strangers. Blah blah blah. Again. Blah Blah. There will be other wieners there for you to play with. Blah Blah. Don't be afraid. Blah. We will be gone a long time. Blah blah blah. "
They must be going a long way cuz normally they would just pack me up and take me with them. I am going to try very hard to be calm but I really don't want them to go.

Home. Safe and sound.

After waiting a long time at the Calgary airport for my human to catch up to me and the big guy we flew back to Houston and picked up Kacy. Boy, was I happy to see her.
We couldn't stay at our house for a few days because the lights were out and it was pretty hot inside. But we are finally settled back in and I have been running around like crazy and playing with all of the toys.

Chillin' in Wainwright

It's been a very long week. Packed up and carted off to Canada on short notice. Visits with lots of humans in Calgary. Trying extra hard to get Samson to play with me. Only a few minutes with Kain. Now we are in Wainwright where Sheba lives and I am trying to catch up on some sleep.

Hurricane Evacuation

I'm getting the heck out of Dodge. The big guy is packing up some stuff and we are going to meet up with my human in Calgary.

WTF!

My human has put a lot of stuff in one of those big bags with little wheels on it and she hasn't brought my bag out yet. This is NOT FUNNY!

Oooweee, did we have...

...some fun this afternoon. My human and the big guy left the house and they left the door open to the treat room. Kacy managed to reach a lot of stuff and she put out a nice little spread for us.
Jerky - sweet and spicy.
Cheezies - two kinds.
And some fluffy white sweet little morsels that we have never had before.

I think I've said this...

...before - long weekends are good. They are long after all.

These are the days...

...of my life.
I really like having Kacy as my friend.
She pretty much lets me do whatever I want to her. I get to bite her ankles. And NO it's not because that's only as far as I can reach!! Sheesh. Some people.
She lets me lay down next to her.
She lets me take whatever toy I want. Even if she is playing with it.
Anyway. It's just one of those days that I am really happy to have a friend like her around.

I get a little worried...

...every time my peeps leave the house. Kacy and I take turns keeping watch out the front window.

I got some good air...

...last night when I super-dogged into the living room. What a rush!

This weather is a test...

...of my bladder control. Both Kacy and I have agreed that stepping foot into the wet grass to do our business is our least favourite thing to do.

My Summer Vacation

It was great to spend all that time at the lake, just like we used to. And having Kain there to hang out with was the best part of all. Some of the time we would just find a sunny spot to lay in

and other times we would play with our favourite toys in the world. Tennis balls. I like to play keep away but only until they roll under the trailer and then I know that Kain is too big to fit under and get them.

And I was right. Something big did happen. The big guy showed up and he played with us a LOT.

We had to take a lot of breaks because of Kain. I could sense that my human was a little worried about him. His colour has changed a lot and his one eye looks weird and he is definitely not as fast as he used to be.
But he still loves to get involved in everything and show that is the boss. Even with our friend, Sheba. She came out to visit a few times and you can tell that Sheba doesn't let Kain get away with anything. Not even his own duck.
One day we went to the North Saskatchewan River since my people know that I like to swim but mostly because they know that Kain LOVES to swim. It was pretty chilly but I still went after the ball. Kain was right there keeping an eye on things and even though I'd like to think that he was looking out for me I know that he really just wanted the ball too.
While Kain and the big guy were swimming I was warming up on the sand and you will never guess what I found to play with. I didn't know that these things lived in the wild. Aren't they only found in captivity? Anyway, I bit it's nose off.
There was a lot of activity packed into a few weeks so when it came time to get some rest I had to make my move and claim my spot when it came up. Especially at night when it started to get a little chilly.
The only thing missing was Kacy. She had to stay in Texas. I'm not sure why but I think next summer she'll get to see how great it is at Buck Lake.

what the heck...

...is she thinking leaving me alone in a strange house with a woman that I barely know. All I want, EVER, is to be with my human. I am very sorry that I made a mess but sometimes I just cannot keep it all together and something gives.

Did I ever tell you that...

...my human is AWESOME.

After a long day of travel, not knowing where we were going, my human surprised me with my big brother Kain. Then we went out to the lake together and I got to hang out with him, just us black boys. We are back in the city for a few days but I can sense something big is going happen.

Holy Dogs and Cats and Goats and Cows and Toads, Batman!

After a very long drive we arrived in north Texas last night. The big guy's mom lives out here and it sure is fun to check everything out.

Miniature Dachshunds unite! If people start thinking that we are vicious beasts then we too will be categorized as dangerous dogs alongside pitbulls and rottweilers.
